As current scandals are wont to do, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s travails are stirring up interest in his past.

Specifically, the lucrative book deal he received for a memoir that came out last year is under some scrutiny.

Vanity Fair notes that Cuomo has promised to reveal the advance for American Crisis: Leadership Lessons From the COVID-19 Pandemic on a financial disclosure that's due May 15.

But the magazine’s attempts to figure out whose idea it was to publish a book that touted Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus crisis before it had even come to an end — and, of course, before less-flattering details about his behavior in this and other arenas had emerged.
