A new collaboration between comic artist Art Spiegelman and short story writer Robert Coover promises to showcase the power of technology.

Literary Hub reports that Coover wrote the text for Street Cop in 2019 (so long ago) and Spiegelman did the illustrations during the COVID-lockdown portion of 2020.

They have never met in person, period, doing all their collaboration via Zoom.

It’s the first original work from Spiegelman — who won the Pulitzer Prize for his Holocaust graphic memoir, Maus — in a decade, says Lit Hub, and the first of Coover’s stories to be illustrated.

Street Cop is part of the literary subscription project isolarii; you can read more about the story in Lit Hub and check out isolarii on its website.
