Toni Collette will adapt "Writers & Lovers" into a movie

Lily King’s bestselling novel Writers & Lovers is coming to the big screen, reports Variety.

Actress Toni Collette will co-write the screenplay for, produce, and – for the first time — direct the adaptation.

As the title hints, Writers & Lovers tells the story of Casey, a thirty-something whose mother has just died, whose love life is in tatters, and whose writing career has yet to take off.

It was the Read With Jenna’s book club selection for March 2020 and also hit the New York Times bestseller list.
