Read a short story by Lily King

Lily King’s two most recent novels have made a big impression on the literary scene.

Euphoria won the 2014 Kirkus Prize for Fiction and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Awards; Writers & Lovers, meanwhile, hit the bestseller charts, no doubt partly thanks to its inclusion in Jenna Bush Hager’s book club.

So we’re hoping that means many readers will be thrilled to hear that Oprah magazine has a free short story by King, called "Timeline," available online.

The story follows a waitress and aspiring writer who, while nursing her wounds from a fling with a married man, meets a new possible love interest.
