The literary influences on this year's Oscar-nominated movies

We bookworms may bemoan how often the adaptation of our favorite stories “ruins” them, but sometimes the screen crews know what they’re doing.

Shelf Awareness notes that several of this year’s Academy Award nominees take at least some inspiration from books.

The site has a list of the literary Oscar-nominated movies, which categories they’re competing in, and (of course) the books they owe credit to.
