Another Elena Ferrante book is coming to the screen.
Deadline reports that Oscar winner Natalie Portman will play the main character in The Days of Abandonment, as well as serving as executive producer.
The novel follows a middle-aged woman (Olga in the book, but Tess in the movie) who gave up on her professional dreams in exchange for a marriage and children — only to have her husband leave her after fifteen years together.
Deadline has more details on the powers adapting The Days of Abandonment, which is in pre-production, into a film.
