Former Speaker John Boehner’s memoir has landed with a splash.
On the House is still an Amazon bestseller, down from tops in its category yesterday, and it inspired a fiery fundraising appeal from a figure mentioned in it.
The book took several digs at Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, and Cruz has fired back by appealing to his supporters to raise $250,000 in 72 hours — and also vote on which method Cruz uses to destroy a copy of On the House.
The Guardian also reports that the email promises to live-stream the destruction and calls Boehner more than a few names in return for what he said about Cruz.
Boehner, whose book came out Tuesday, capped his time as a Republican US representative for Ohio with five years as speaker of the House.
