Amazon’s way of marking World Book Day last week was to calculate its all-time bestsellers.
Since Amazon launched in 1994, the interval (twenty-seven years) isn’t a traditional milestone.
And of course, as Literary Hub points out, it’s not as if people haven’t bought books elsewhere in that time.
Still, we thought it was interesting to browse Amazon’s 50 bestselling books of all time in the US.
Here are the top ten; you can see the whole list at Lit Hub.
1. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling
3. Fifty Shades of Grey, by E.L. James
4. Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins
5. Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins
6. StrengthsFinder 2.0, by Tom Rath
7. Fifty Shades Darker, by E.L. James
8. The Handmaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood
9. Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn
10. Fifty Shades Freed, by E.L. James
