A no-brainer has finally become reality: LeVar Burton has launched a book club.

The Reading Rainbow host (and Star Trek actor) told Entertainment Weekly that the right technological platform was what finally nudged him to create the LeVar Burton Book Club.

The club officially starts Tuesday through the social reading app Fable.

Burton will unveil three picks every three months, beginning with Go Tell It on the Mountain, by James Baldwin; Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler; and The Fire This Time, edited by Jesmyn Ward.

Those three books, he says, “represent how my identity as a reader has been shaped.”

Burton shares more about his passion for reading and what he hopes to achieve with his book club in an interview with EW.
