The tale of Christine Favara Anderson’s alleged antics would make quite the legal thriller.
Federal prosecutors have charged Anderson, who ran two publishing companies, with wire and mail fraud, some of which harmed the authors she worked with.
The Charlotte Observer reports that she withheld royalty payments from several of these authors, citing such excuses as stage IV cancer and a private plane’s mechanical issues.
Anderson also claimed that she was friends with actor Morgan Freeman and an advisor to former President Donald Trump.
The Observer has plenty more on the investigation into Anderson, who’s currently in jail and won’t be allowed to post bail.
