Another Stephen King adaptation hit the screen yesterday, as Lisey’s Story premiered on Apple TV+.

While it’s not the only one to become a miniseries, it’s a rare instance of the author himself writing the series — something, according to the New York Times, he hasn’t done since 1997’s The Shining.

King told the paper that he’d held on to this book, because it was one he really loved, and also provides much more insight into its inspiration and the decisions that went into its production, including how to handle violence against women.
