Remember the short story “Cat Person” by Kristen Roupenian?
If not: it’s still up on The New Yorker … or you can just wait for the movie adaptation of it to come out.
Because, yes, a film version is actually in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Emilia Jones will play Margot, the young woman who goes on one bad date with Robert, the “cat person” referred to in the story’s title; the latter character will be played by Nicholas Braun.
The Hollywood Reporter has more information about the “Cat Person” production crew, but not any expected release date.
This isn’t Roupenian’s first screen deal; she sold the script to the horror movie Bodies Bodies Bodies.
