Octavia E. Butler's "Fledgling" is being adapted

Hollywood will adapt yet another Octavia E. Butler novel.

This time, it’s 2005’s Fledgling; according to Deadline, the sci-fi vampire novel will become a series on HBO.

Issa Rae and J.J. Abrams are among the executive producers for this latest Butler adaptation.

It follows this week’s news that Parable of the Sower will become a movie and this month’s news of casting for the TV version of Kindred.
