Poet Robert Frost was first published on this day in 1894.

His poem “My Butterfly” appeared in The New York Independent.

Those of us feeling a bit glum about the end of Daylight Saving Time might find the poem perfectly suited to their mood — or a reinforcement of their melancholy.

You can easily read “My Butterfly” at Poets.org or admire it in its original format — on the front page of a newspaper — courtesy of the Library of Congress.

The latter link also includes a recording of Frost discussing some of his poems, including “My Butterfly,” in 1959.
