Literary Hub recently shared an excerpt of Nadifa Mohamed's novel The Fortune Men, a Booker Prize finalist that’s still in the running for a Costa Award.

If that piqued your interest, good news: Lit Hub also had a chance to interview Mohamed (via email) about her inspiration and writing process for the novel.

The Fortune Men tells the actual story of a Somali sailor arrested for and convicted of a crime he didn't commit in Cardiff, Wales, in 1952.
