Our holiday travels took us out of the office early, so we didn’t have a chance to share news of author Joan Didion’s death on the blog.
Didion, author of Slouching Toward Bethlehem and The Year of Magical Thinking, died Thursday at age eighty-seven due to Parkinson’s disease.
The usual news sources have obituaries for her: the New York Times, the Guardian, and NPR.
They’ve also brought material back up from the archives, for a comprehensive remembrance.
NPR rounded up decades’ worth of interviews with Didion; Literary Hub compiled a similar retrospective.
The New York Times, meanwhile, provided guides to Didion’s books, her journalism, and her streamable movies.
