Many readers find it tempting to seek autobiographical moments or influences in a writer’s work.

That type of bookworm will find fertile ground in a new short story by Lauren Groff.

The main character of “Junket,” after all, is referred to only as the writer — which could be any number of things, including completely fictional.

Head to Granta magazine’s website to read “Junket” through whatever lens you choose.

Groff's books, including Fates and Furies, Florida, and most recently Matrix, have been considered for or received a number of top literary awards.
