Updated on March 9 with new fundraising totals.
In case you haven't heard, indie authors are using Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms to incredible effect.
The most recent one — and perhaps the most accomplished one, period — is sci-fi/fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson.
CNBC reports that his first goal, for $1 million to publish four novels, was met in thirty-five minutes.
As of 7:45 a.m. Central today — with twenty-two days to go — Sanderson has received over $26 million in pledges, which he called "increasingly unbelievable" in his intro to the campaign.
That breaks the previous record for a Kickstarter publishing campaign, which was held by ... Sanderson.
