Brandon Taylor's "Filthy Animals" wins the Story Prize

Belated congratulations are in order for author Brandon Taylor, who won the Story Prize last week.

Judges praised the precision," "compassion," and "finely tuned" sentences in Filthy Animals, according to Publishers Weekly.

Taylor will receive $20,000 from the Story Prize, but that's not the only honor he brought in recently.

He's also a 2022-2023 Fellow at the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers.
