Competition for the coolest bookstore is, happily, fierce.
Your Brother's Bookstore in Evansville, Indiana, has a strong claim to that title, though.
In addition to a wide variety of reading material, the store boasts a possible connection to a Prohibition-era secret tunnel.
When the owners found the trapdoor leading to a dusty room under the store, they thought it was cool but not especially noteworthy, they told local TV station 14 News.
But when the Evansville African American Museum caught wind of the discovery, speculation arose that the room could've been part of the Underground Railroad.
Nope — museum officials instead hypothesized, based on artifacts found under Your Brother's Bookstore and knowledge of a bootlegging tunnel under Main Street, that it was more likely a long-ago gambling den.
You can read more about the tunnel under Your Brother's Bookstore — and check it out, virtually — at 14 News.
