What does one do upon retiring as US poet laureate?

Write (another) children's book.

Joy Harjo will publish Remember, a picture book based on a poem of the same name, on March 21, 2023, according to her publisher.

The poem "Remember" came out forty years ago and appears, in part, in a plaque/time capsule on a spacecraft headed for the Trojan asteroids orbiting Jupiter, notes The Associated Press.

Caldecott Medalist Michaela Goade will illustrate Remember, which is Harjo's third children's book.
