Six lucky book clubs in the United Kingdom will be invited to party with the Booker Prize judges this year.
The Guardian reports that the inaugural Booker Prize book club challenge was dreamed up as a way to keep judging independent, yet bring some of the excitement of the job to a broader audience.
How it works: Clubs can apply now through August 12, explaining what makes them stand out and why they want to participate.
In addition to these applications, clubs' social media activity regarding the Booker Prize-nominated books will be assessed.
Six clubs will ultimately get to send representatives on an all-expenses-paid trip to the shortlist party in London in September, and then two members from the winning club will get to attend the actual prize ceremony in October.
