Most J.R.R. Tolkien fans probably already have an idea of whether they want to watch the new Amazon Prime show The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

In the event that they're on the fence, though, Literary Hub has just the right source of advice.

Colleagues Jenna Kass and Dylan Roth come from very different places re: Tolkien.

She adores his books but has come to dislike Peter Jackson's adaptations of them; he, meanwhile, hasn't made it very far into the texts but adores the films.

The two of them discuss their feelings about the first two episodes of The Rings of Power, which mixes Tolkien's actual writing with invention, in a spoiler-free-as-of-now post.

(Expect to see actual episode details provided after the show premieres today.)
