Douglas Stuart’s Booker Prize-winning novel Shuggie Bain was optioned for TV a couple of years ago.

And now we're learning of the action plan to make it happen.

A24 will adapt it for BBC One, with Stuart still writing the script for the show, reports Literary Hub.

Stuart wrote the semiautobiographical novel, set in Glasgow, Scotland, during the 1980s, as a way to process his childhood trauma.
