New Year's Eve isn't much to celebrate, according to these stories

There’s still time, if you’re looking at this close to the time it was posted, to ring in the new year with a New Year’s Eve-themed read.

Many of them are not exactly optimistic or cheerful … so we certainly hope that your mood or plans don’t mirror fiction.
