Author Dizz Tate recently wrote an ode to the novel The Virgin Suicides for the Guardian.

So when we saw that she had a novel come out just this week — one that was described as a cross between Virgin Suicides and another book – it was a major aha moment.

In Brutes, Tate tells the story of a group of thirteen-year-old girls who idolize the coolest member of them all ... only to have the object of their admiration vanish.
