The United Kingdom has a new ruler.

No, we're not talking about the Windsors — we're talking about library dominance.

The Guardian reports that thriller author James Patterson's streak of being the most-checked-out author in UK libraries has ended at fourteen years. 

Children’s author Julia Donaldson, who dreamed up the fantastical creature known as the Gruffalo, was revealed as tops in the latest data.

She previously had been the third-most borrowed author, so it's not a total shock.

And Patterson remains the most-borrowed adult author.
