As promised (or threatened), a musical version of The Great Gatsby is becoming a reality.
Deadline reports that this adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, dubbed simply Gatsby, will make its world premiere in 2024.
The show will start in Cambridge, Massachusetts — but producers have an eye toward Broadway, of course.
Florence Welch, the frontwoman of Florence + the Machine, is co-writing the music and handling the lyrics solo, while Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok will be in charge of the script.
