The author of a John le Carré biography has more stories to tell.

The Guardian reports that Adam Sisman is publishing The Secret Life of John le Carré, which contains material he couldn’t release during the author’s lifetime, with the estate’s knowledge.

Sisman said that his 2015 biography was written with le Carré’s cooperation but not without any strain.

And he realized, he said, that the author’s “turbulent personal life, which he wanted to keep private in his lifetime, was key to an understanding of his work.”

Le Carré’s son also suggested that he keep some material private, to be released after the author’s death.

The Secret Life of John le Carré comes out October 24.
