It's worth reading the Los Angeles Times's coverage of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library expansion, for the lede alone.

We won't spoil that particular delight, but we will share that the news is, the free-book program will cover every county in California by 2028.

The Imagination Library provides children younger than five with a free book — available in English or Spanish — every month.

Parton and California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the expansion on Tuesday.
