A UK trade group has some news likely to cheer many bookworms.
The Publishers Association recently did a survey and found that one in three Brits say that books are their preferred form of escapism.
The Guardian reports that, yes, over half turn to television on a bad day, but going to a bar (er, a pub) or the movie theater were both less popular than a book.
And a fair number of respondents — over 40 percent — keep books once they've read them.
Multiple answers were permitted to that question, with over a third also saying they pass books along to others once they've finished them.
