Bail has been denied to the Utah woman who wrote a children's book about grief, inspired by the death of her husband — in which she's now charged.
The Associated Press reports that a judge determined Kouri Richins to be a flight risk.
Richins's husband was found dead in March 2022 with fentanyl in his system; she went on to write an illustrated storybook called Are You With Me? about an angelic dad watching over his kids.
Her in-laws read an impact statement at the Monday hearing in which they described the pain of watching Richins promote the book.
