His second novel, Small Worlds — the story of a first-generation Londoner who decides to follow his musical dreams instead of the traditional path — hits US shelves tomorrow.

Nelson's previous work, Open Water, netted him a number of honors, including the Costa First Novel Award, the British Book Award for Debut Fiction, and a spot among the National Book Foundation's 5 Under 35 list.
