Deadline has hot news on the literary adaptation front.
First, the most recent: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have bought film rights to Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune.
The bestselling romance novel stars a couple who meet in their thirties and who have childhood trauma to work through, including the loss of a parent in a car crash. (Sound familiar?)
Deadline, citing the UK's Sun newspaper, says Harry and Meghan will produce the movie version.
And the other news, which is a little less literary: Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda's next project will be a musical version of The Warriors, says Deadline, citing the New York Post.
The Warriors began as a novel (coming out in 1965) and later became a movie (released in 1979).
Written by Sol Yurick, it follows a New York City street gang's journey after being framed for the murder of another gang's leader.
