Blurbs and advanced review copies are two topics we often post about on the author section of our website.

Today, though, they're making an appearance on the reader side of things.

Getting an advance copy of a book might seem like fun, and it certainly can be — but Jamie Canaves shares the less glamorous and more frustrating parts of being a book's first reader at BookRiot.

In a similar vein, once a book cover or title has caught your interest, you likely check out the blurb ... which is sometimes illuminating and other times exhausting or downright confusing.
