Labor Day and the start of school signal to Americans that summer is mostly over and fall is here (or at least right around the corner).

What does that mean for entertainment? The displays, if not everyone's consumption, shift to Halloween and horror.

For years, this was most decidedly not BookRiot contributor Anne Mai Yee Jansen's cup of tea (or cider).

But, she says, 2020 changed all of that — and sales stats show she isn't alone.
