Toys for Tots launches a new literacy initiative

Those of you feeling glum as you watch leaves turn and mornings cool off will perhaps be somewhat cheered by this piece of news.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has added a new initiative to its Toys for Tots Literacy Program.

Operation Turn the Page aims to close the summer reading gap by connecting more economically disadvantaged kids with books over the summer.

With one in six children living at or below poverty level in the US, it's clearly a widespread threat.
