Literary news sources recently highlighted two books — one new, one a little older — that have distinctive features.
The former comes from historian Simon Sebag Montefiore, whose latest release, The World: A Family History of Humanity, has an accompanying playlist compiled by the author himself.
The four hundred-plus songs come from artists including The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, The Commodores and more, to capture the essence of the historic families featured in Montefiore's book.
Listen to or read a transcript of Montefiore and Scott Simon's conversation about some of those songs.
And the latter comes from Shelby Van Pelt, whose spring 2022 release Remarkably Bright Creatures includes an octopus.
The New York Times covered how "the octopus book" took off via word of mouth and has settled firmly into the bestseller lists.
