The American Library Association has announced its choices for the top books, digital media, video, and audiobooks for children and young adults.

You can see all of the awards and their winners in an ALA press release, but here are a few highlights:

The John Newbery medal, which honors an outstanding contribution to children's literature, went to The Eyes and the Impossible, written by Dave Eggers and illustrated by Shawn Harris.

The Randolph Caldecott medal, which honors the most distinguished picture book for children, went to Big, written and illustrated by Vashti Harrison.

And the Coretta Scott King Book Award, which honors an African American author and illustrator of outstanding books for children and young adults, went to Nigeria Jones by Ibi Zoboi.
