Both of these excerpts are from brief pieces: Imagination: A Manifesto, described as a "short," and "Flaubert Again," a short story in the collection Wrong Norma.

Imagination by Ruha Benjamin is, as you might guess, an exhortation to dream bigger, but with specific examples of people who are working, collectively, to actually achieve the lofty goals they envision.

You can read a passage from Imagination at Book Riot.

"Flaubert Again," excerpted at Literary Hub, is from Anne Carson's upcoming release.

The publisher describes the collection as containing "startling poetic prose pieces" that aren't linked, and that certainly seems easier than trying to define this particular story.
