Food and fiction: August 12, 2024

We came across a few posts recently that covered the intersection of literature and dining.

One was straight news: Billboard covered how Walmart has released a line of hot sauces that are inspired by spicy romance books.

The other posts were reflections rather than just reporting.

Atlas Obscura explored the ways in which readers pay homage to literature in the kitchen, from making foods that actually appear in novels to coming up with their own culinary tie-ins.

Literary Hub, meanwhile, came from the author's perspective in its food-fiction piece; author Flynn Berry discusses using a character's grocery-store habits as a development tool.
