Illustrating your scenes through your characters’ observations is absolutely key to bringing your story to life.

C.S. Lakin reminds us, though, that we need to stick to what our point-of-view character can actually — and would realistically — perceive.

Lakin shares two versions of a fictional scene, one that ignores the POV character’s limitations and another that respects them, to explain what she means.
