"The Testaments" is Amazon's favorite book of 2019

With current weather conditions resembling the dead of winter more than late fall, it seems appropriate that Amazon is ready to wrap up 2019.

The editorial team has released its picks for the year’s best books, which you can browse by category.

But without further ado, the overall best book of 2019 in Amazon’s eyes is The Testaments, by Margaret Atwood, which the editorial team calls “well worth the wait.”

And though it wasn’t on the top ten list, Dear Sweet Pea, by Julie Murphy, earned the highest honors in the children’s category.

Amazon uses its best books of the month to guide the year-end voting, and while other reviewers (professionals and amateurs) do influence their decision, sales do not.
