Film and literary buffs alike seem impressed with the early plans for a new book adaptation.

Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried, a collection of Vietnam veterans’ stories, will become a feature film for the first time, reports Deadline.

(It has previously hit the stage and the small screen.)

Both Deadline and Literary Hub rave about the acting names attached to the film: Tom Hardy, Bill Skarsgård, Stephan James, and a number of others.

For all the big names in the film and behind it, head to Deadline; for all the honors that the book has accumulated since its 1990 publication, go to Lit Hub.
