Oprah Winfrey has chosen another debut novel for her book club.

Honorée Fanonne Jeffers’s The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois was revealed as the choice yesterday, the same day it was released.

The book is among the most anticipated debut novels of the year, with such authors as Angie Thomas, Jacqueline Woodson, and Stephanie Powell Watts praising it, according to the Associated Press.

Jeffers is an established poet; her first novel explores centuries of Black history through the eyes of a contemporary narrator working to come to terms with her identity.

“I was so enraptured by the story of this modern Black family, and how author Honorée Fanonne Jeffers wove the larger fabric of historical trauma through the family’s silence through generations,” Winfrey said in a statement.
