As an author or parent — or both — you know that writing a children's book isn't just a matter of using shorter words and sentences and more illustrations.

So here are two recent advice posts from publishing gurus on the matter.

Joanna Penn interviewed Daniel Miller about how to create and sell books for children on her Creative Penn podcast; the post on her blog has, as usual, both audio and a transcript.

And Dave Chesson shares eight tips for formatting a children's book on the Kindlepreneur blog; after that advice, the post does conclude with a plug for a particular product, but the content leading up to it is ad-free.
