Readers were promised a flood of Great Gatsby spinoffs this year, as the book entered the public domain.
So far, they haven’t been disappointed — that is, in terms of receiving the flood, not necessarily welcoming it.
The latest reincarnation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel is a Broadway musical, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
Florence Welch, the frontwoman of Florence + the Machine, will write the lyrics, while Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok will be in charge of the script.
Other big names in the entertainment industry will play roles, too, though who will play the actual roles — and when they’ll take the stage — remains yet to be seen.
