This is a bridge too far.
Variety reports that Peacock (the streaming division of NBCUniversal) has ordered a dating show supposedly inspired by Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
We say supposedly because the show — titled Pride and Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance — describes itself as helping a heroine find her duke, rather than her gentleman.
Contestants will stay in a castle in England’s countryside and take part in Regency-themed activities like carriage rides, boat rides on the lake, and archery.
Variety has the names of the parties responsible for Pride and Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance in case you'd like to voice your displeasure.
