The National Endowment for the Arts announced the winners of nearly $33.2 million in grants yesterday.

Among those winners: thirty-five writers who comprise the 2022 class of the Creative Writing Fellows.

All fellows receive $25,000 grants so that they can write, research, travel, and do other tasks to advance their career.

The NEA alternates between awarding these grants to prose and poetry writers; this year is a prose year.

You can learn more about each writer and read excerpts of their work on the NEA website.
