The novel Water for Elephants has joined the ranks of books that have been adapted into multiple different formats.
The 2006 bestseller became a movie a few years ago, and now, The New York Times reports, its eight-year journey to big-budget musical has come to fruition.
Water for Elephants had an initial run this summer in Atlanta, and it will open on Broadway in early spring 2024 ... featuring actual circus performers.
Circus performers comprise about one-third of the onstage cast, in fact.
Sara Gruen's novel, if you didn't already know or guess, follows a young veterinary student who joins a circus during the Great Depression.
